What are some easy guitar songs to learn?

Just got a guitar for christmas and i want to learn some basic songs, riffs, intros, or solos. What are some easy songs, riffsm intros, or solos, to learn? Best Answer gets 10 points!!!

Nothing Else Matters by Metalica is just right down and up the strings. Vaseline by Stone Temple Pilots’s riff is just one string played with your finger on the fret, then off, alternately.
Learn the blues scale, and play it till your fingers bleed. Its not fun but it will be a jumping off point to lots of other things.

There are many really popular songs that are easy to play, for example:

    Hurt – Johnny Cash cover

House of the Rising Sun – The Animals

Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) – Green Day

You can choose either, or all of them for that matter. They do require some practice, but thats part of the learning process. There are video guitar lessons to the above songs here: http://www.theguitarlesson.com/guitar-lessons
