Been getting a lot of requests for this one, so here it is folks. “Free Bird” by Lynyrd Skynyrd. The single greatest song ever written (in my book). I learned this when I was like 16 so I’m not using tabs and did it all by ear, so this isn’t perfect. Lynyrd Skynyrd is an awesome awesome band and has gone through far more hardships than they deserve. Even if you’re a Skynyrd purist and think the current lineup is just a tribute band, go seem them and support the band, because they put on a great show.

First of all, the intro to this is wrong but we recorded this like half a year ago so I can’t find the right intro, since I am so scatterbrained, lol. I definitely don’t do this song justice, M. Shadows has a sexy voice I cannot duplicate.. he’s sexy.. *faints*. OK, I’m a bit of an a7x fangirl. Can you blame me?
The main reason why this song is difficult for me to sing is because it’s too high for me to sing in chest voice, but it sounds absolutely awful and awkward in head voice, (similar to falsetto for you males). Little did you know that reading my descriptions could give you a lesson in voice, eh? ;]
Anyway – Hopefully I’ll be able to put annotations up before this thing gets uploaded, but I’m on my way to buy books for class.. oh how I love spending near $1000 every semester for books.. nottttt..
Sorry there have been no videos lately, I haven’t been too interested in Rock Band and college just started again, so I’ve been very busy. Don’t worry though, I’ll never quit – I love music and I love the way Rock Band allows people to express themselves. Plus I’m not a attention whore that wants people to cry for me to keep playing.
