My brother recently purchased an electric guitar from GuitarCenter and pretty much excited to play some easy songs at new year party. I have been playing acoustic guitar for a few months, but this is the first time he gonna try an electric guitar. Wondering some easy new year songs.

Starting with electric guitar is better because your fingers adjust quickly to the metal strings and it isnt as sore as starting from nylon strings to steel.
But, the catch it, if you start with electric, you don’t want to buy a very expensive guitar because you might find that you don’t like guitar and are stuck with an expensive electric lol.
Its easy to start if you have a good musical ear, (can pick out notes and different pitches) and if you go to the right teacher. You can teach yourself guitar and alot of people do, but its better if you go to a teacher so they can gives you tips and hints about playing guitar
